How To Change Or Reset Your Password

This article explains how to change or reset your Paynt Portal password.

This article explains how to change or reset your portal password, depending on whether you can currently access your account or not.

This article also provides guidance on accessing your Paynt terminal if you encounter login issues.

Changing Your Password While Logged In

If you are logged in to the portal:

  1. Select the profile icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Choose Profile.

  3. Scroll to the Password section.

  4. Enter your current password, then enter and confirm your new password.

  5. Save the changes.

Once confirmed, your new password will be active immediately.

Retrieving Terminal Credentials

If you do not know or remember your user ID and password for the payment terminal, check the email address associated with your Paynt accounts. Your terminal login credentials (user ID and password) are sent via email. If you have multiple accounts, you will receive separate emails for each account’s terminal credentials. Use the details from those emails to log in to the payment application on the terminal.## Using Default Credentials for Terminals If your new terminal is asking for user credentials and is not accepting your previous user ID and password, try the following default credential combinations in order:

  • 1234/1234

  • 1234/4321

  • 1234/0000

  • 1234/1236

  • 1236/1236 If one of these combinations works, proceed with the terminal setup.

Resetting Your Password from the Login Screen

If you are unable to log in:

  1. Select Forgot password on the login screen.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. You will receive an email containing a password reset link.

  4. Use the link to set a new password.

  5. Return to the login screen and sign in with your new password.

Contacting Support

If you do not receive the password reset email or are still unable to log in after resetting your password, please contact [email protected] or reach out in our live chat. Our support team can resend the reset email and provide further assistance.

Please note that for security reasons, we cannot reset passwords or accept password-related requests on behalf of another user. Any password reset request or support enquiry must come from the same email address associated with the user account.

Additionally, ensure you are using the correct email address associated with your Paynt account and check your spam or junk folder for credential or password reset emails. Verify that the credentials are entered exactly as provided, paying attention to case sensitivity.

Troubleshooting Portal Loading Issues

If the Paynt portal appears to load indefinitely after entering your credentials and authentication code, follow these steps:

  1. Switch to a Different Browser: Try accessing the portal using a different web browser to rule out browser-specific issues.

  2. Power-Cycle Your Internet Router:

    • Turn off your router.

    • Wait for about one minute.

    • Turn it back on to restore a stable internet connection.

  3. Check for Connectivity Issues: If you encounter a "bad connection" message, this typically indicates a network problem that the router reset may resolve.

These steps address common browser and connectivity causes of portal login pages not loading after authentication.

Additional Tips

  • Ensure your internet connection is stable before attempting to log in or reset your password.

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies if issues persist.

  • If none of the above steps work, contact Paynt support for further assistance.

  • Ensure you are using the correct email address associated with your Paynt account.

  • Check your spam or junk folder for credential or password reset emails.

  • Verify that the credentials are entered exactly as provided, paying attention to case sensitivity.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to resolve most login and password reset issues on the Paynt portal.
